Referee Clinic

Spring 2017 Entry Level Referee Clinic

Love the beautiful game of soccer?  Have a child who does?  Learn the rules of the game firsthand. Watch the game from the best seat in the house AND get paid for it! The Urbandale Soccer Club is hosting an Entry Level Referee Clinic on February 17/18, 2017.
This is a great opportunity for U13/U14 players to learn the game from another perspective and earn some extra cash.  Participants must be at least 12 years old to attend.   If someone will turn 12 years old by the time the season starts, they may attend.

NEW: All parents are invited to attend the clinic, to see what referees are taught and to understand the laws of the game, at no charge.  The parents can then assist with the support of the new referee and perhaps answer questions of other parents.  Please contact Bonnie Larson (info below) if you are an adult who plans to sit in.

Complete the form as a NEW referee.  Keep the username and password that you register with as you will need them in the future to get into your personal account on this site.  Each individual registering needs their own username and password.

There is material for the participant to review prior to coming to class.  You will find the information to review on the registration form.  A law book will be provided at the clinic which is yours to keep.

This is a perfect time for U13/14 players to become involved with the club by refereeing.  It is also a
perfect time for Mom and Dad to become involved and grow with the sport as their child grows with the sport.  The Club is in need of adult referees.  The club is growing thus, more referees are needed.

All parents are invited to attend the clinic, to see what referees are taught and to understand the laws of the game, at no charge.  The parents can then assist with the support of the new referee and perhaps answer questions of other parents.  Please contact Bonnie Larson (info below) if you are an adult who plans to sit in.

Register for the Entry Level Clinic at:  www.iowareferees.org; click on Calendar, be sure the calendar is on February, go to February 17th; click on Urbandale/Johnston entry level clinic; when the registration form pulls up, it will show on the left side of the screen, complete the form as a NEW referee.  Keep the username and password that you register with as you will need them in the future to get into your personal account on this site.  You will receive more details regarding the clinic via e-mail closer to the clinic date.

If the Entry Level Clinic on February 17/18th  will not work for your schedule, search the calendar to see if there is another date that will work.  You can attend an Entry Level Clinic wherever you would like and referee wherever you want.

Please contact Bonnie Larson with any questions – e-mail: blarson1312@gmail.com or phone: 255-6559.

It is a good idea for the participant to review the suggested material prior to the clinic.  The information is provided for you on the registration form.

Clinic Cost

The cost to attend is $50

USC will reimburse the clinic fee once the course has been passed and the referee works(and gets paid) at least ten games for Urbandale Soccer Club.

USC Needs Adult Referees

After attending the clinic, should a parent choose to take the test and become a referee, the $50 fee would apply.  Otherwise, there is no charge for parents.
